Finding Myself in Network Marketing

After a difficult divorce, I found myself searching for a new direction. Network marketing was my first stepping stone; I joined a company called Senegence, where makeup became my armor and my tool to reconnect with myself. I felt a newfound confidence as I learned how to show up with beauty and poise, both for myself and for others. The thrill of those early wins and the excitement of building a business of my own were deeply empowering.

Network marketing also introduced me to connections I hadn’t imagined—meeting women from all walks of life, each with her own story of struggle and success. I quickly learned the power of building relationships and what it means to support each other. But as I continued, I found myself navigating a side of the industry that wasn’t aligned with my values; I encountered scammy, high-pressure leaders and realized that the industry’s shine could be deceiving. While I began to distance myself, I held onto the invaluable skills I had gained: marketing, selling, and stepping out of my comfort zone. Little did I know how important these skills would become.

The Shift into Motherhood and Self-Rediscovery

Then came 2020. Amid a global pandemic, I experienced one of the biggest changes of my life: I became a mom. My daughter was born after several heartbreaking miscarriages, so her arrival was a gift I had waited for with all my heart. But with her birth came a whirlwind of emotions, amplified by a world shut down and family far away. My husband, my rock and constant support, encouraged me to prioritize self-care. Those moments of stillness—a mani-pedi here, a quiet coffee there—helped me process the profound shift in our lives as we welcomed our daughter.

Parenting didn’t come easy. When my husband returned to work, the challenges of solo parenting on those long nights felt overwhelming. My old social life was replaced with bottles, diaper changes, and the beautiful chaos of motherhood. In those early months, I knew I needed something more—a creative outlet to ground me and bring back a piece of my former self.

Reigniting a Love for Jewelry Making

Looking for hobbies to fill this need, I tried everything from sewing to macrame, but nothing clicked. That is, until I returned to jewelry-making—a craft that had been close to my heart since my teenage years. Growing up, my mom, sisters and I often visited a small bead store in my hometown, sparking a love for jewelry that I’d carried with me ever since. I started with simple hand-stamped pieces, and each creation felt like a small act of joy and purpose.

When I attended my first permanent jewelry event, something in me clicked. I saw the potential to take my jewelry to the next level, adding a touch of permanence to something meaningful. Investing in a welding machine felt like a natural next step—one that would allow me to create secure, lasting pieces that resonate with my values of connection, balance, and empowerment.

From Hobby to Business, and The Always Busy Mama

Jewelry-making began as a hobby, a way to reconnect with myself, but it quickly transformed into something more. With each piece I created, I rediscovered not only a passion but also a purpose. My daughter’s birth, combined with the solitude of the pandemic, taught me the importance of meaningful connections and moments of self-love—values I now pour into every piece I make.

Today, my journey has come full circle. The daughter who helped me find myself again is now by my side, creating beautiful pieces with me. Jewelry-making has become a shared experience between us, a way to bond and express ourselves. The Always Busy Mama isn’t just a brand; it’s a reflection of our journey together. It’s for the women who, like me, are learning to find themselves again, embracing the balance between family, self, and passion. Jewelry has been my medium, my therapy, and my gift to share, and I hope that every piece we create speaks to the heart of those who wear it.
